If you are trying to frame the message appropriately, then it usually becomes your message and not the Spirit's message. Everything in it may be true, but is it appropriate as vocal ministry in worship?Bill Samuelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00752443575410023776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18993305.post-66987230531915304442013-05-07T11:58:30.337-04:002013-05-07T11:58:30.337-04:00Susan Thanks for both of your comments. The mainstream, including neoliberal economic policy, remains the enemy of an earth restored. This man is a Republican, all for "growth" in these mountains. But he's really not that different from Democrats who also want growth and jobs, just a shade greener. The whole fraught issue of fracking is a good case in point in terms of the latter. Obama is strongly pro-fracking, notwithstanding the local damage. And I was interested in your use of the phrase "main stream 'enemy'" -- would be interested to hear more about that --<br />thanks!Susan J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07676460547965873094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18993305.post-56413812983977044212013-05-05T16:57:00.803-04:002013-05-05T16:57:00.803-04:00thanks for this thoughtful post, Bob. I often find myself in a minority on various issues and little by little I've come to see the failure to hear one another as a bigger issue than "my" side on the issues... I still hold strong positions, but I try hard to focus on the particular person or group and what (if anything) the Lord would have me say to her/him/them... staying "on message" with the issue isn't the point. connecting with others under divine guidance is.Susan J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07676460547965873094noreply@blogger.com
